2018 Thru-Hikers: Apply to Be a Trail Correspondent for Backpacker Radio!

Update 5/1: We are now accepting applications from 2018 SOBOs from the AT, PCT, and CDT!

“What is a Trail Correspondent?” you wonder.  I thought you’d never ask.

Listen to our previous Trail Correspondents episodes here.

Unlike our Bloggers and Vloggers, Trail Correspondents will have their audio recordings featured in front of The Trek community.  These will be shared through Backpacker Radio, The Trek’s new podcast celebrating the long distance backpacking life.  We will select a handful of people from the AT, PCT, and CDT (we’re open to other trails, too!), to be serve our inaugural Trail Correspondents.

Expectations: The ideal candidate will be eager and willing to share their stories from trail.  This can be done in the form of interviews with other hikers, monologues talking through the highs and lows of your day, and/or whatever other creative expression speaks to you.  Your recordings will be distributed through each installment of Backpacker Radio, and thus, also here on The Trek.  This is a unique and impactful way to showcase thru-hiking to a huge audience through your eyes!

The CDT, the last true wilderness trail (until in a couple years when everyone is vlogging, blogging, podcasting, trail magicing, and yellow blazing that trail too).
