Announcing the 2026 Badger Sponsorship

It’s that time of year again: The 2026 Badger Sponsorship is now live!

If you’re new around here, the Badger Sponsorship is The Trek’s annual, industry-wide gear giveaway that brings the trail community together around great gear, good people, and an even better cause.

With 38 of your favourite outdoor brands involved, over $31,000 of gear up grabs, and 100% of proceeds supporting public lands, the Badger Sponsorship is back and better than ever.

What Is the Badger Sponsorship?

The Badger Sponsorship is The Trek’s annual give-back initiative, bringing brands, hikers, and the trail community together in support of something bigger than ourselves. For more than a decade, it’s connected backpackers and outdoor brands through a shared love of the trail lifestyle.

Each year, that support shows up in the form of thoughtfully curated prize packages packed with trail-ready essentials. Think packs, shelters, apparel, food, footwear, and more. But while the gear is a big draw, the heart of the Badger Sponsorship has always been about supporting hikers, protecting wild places, and strengthening trail culture.

Supporting Outdoor Alliance

This year, 100% of proceeds from the Badger Sponsorship will go directly to Outdoor Alliance, a national coalition working to protect public lands and waters across the United States.

Outdoor Alliance brings together outdoor recreation groups, conservation organizations, and local advocates to make sure the places we hike, camp, paddle, and explore stay accessible, protected, and responsibly managed now and for generations to come.

Their work directly impacts long-distance hikers nationwide, from trail access to land stewardship. When you enter the Badger Sponsorship, you’re not just entering a gear giveaway; rather, you’re helping protect the places that make long-distance hiking possible in the first place.

How It Works

Getting involved is simple! For every dollar you donate through our BetterWorld fundraising campaign, you earn one entry into the giveaway. The more you contribute, the more chances you have to win.

Whether you’re gearing up for your next thru-hike or just want to give back to the outdoors, every entry makes a difference.

To put it simply: $1 = 1 entry.

The Sponsors

The 2026 Badger Sponsorship wouldn’t be possible without the support of 38 incredible outdoor brands who stepped up to donate gear and support the trail community.

These companies care deeply about hikers, public lands, and the future of outdoor recreation. We’re grateful for their generosity and excited to highlight the brands helping make this year’s sponsorship possible. A massive thank you goes out to:
