3 down 11 to go

I know it’s been a long time since my last update, I’ve just been enjoying my time on the trail too much to sit down and type on the tiny keypad of my iPhone. (I hate typing on my iPhone)

A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks…
I’ve made it into Virginia. I’m also about 25% done with the trail. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but trust me 550 miles is a lot on foot. One morning after leaving Hot Springs, NC I woke up and my knees said “OOHH, so you wanna hike 20+ miles in a day, go to sleep, wake up and do it again, over and over again? We got you.” I think I may have gotten my *trail legs. With those I’ve also acquired my hiker hunger – below is me killing the Pizza Hut party box challenge (wings were an addition to the challenge). I now understand how expensive it is to feed a family of four.

I’ve also passed through the Graceland Highlands State Park. The only place on the trail where you can find these guys

It was awesome!

I’ve been having a blast and Virginia has been treating me great so far. I’m very excited to see what’s ahead. I just have to be careful to avoid the Virginia Blues…

*trail legs – Crazy incredible hulkesque legs which give hikers the ability to hike A LOT, while feeling little to no pain 😀 (websters dictionary)
