100 miles down
Day 7
13ish miles. Thru it All slacked pack me again and I made it to Iron masters. Deep End was at the hostel also. We met these cool section hikers who drove us to get some pizza!! Day hikers and section hikers are so awesome. Some how I try and manage to get snacks out of them lol!! Today was hot.
Day 8
7 miles. It was going to start storming at 2 for the rest of the day. So I stopped and set up at the nearest shelter. Thru it all dropped me off at Iron Masters and I went on my way. I saw Garmin there, who was also coming to the same shelter, but she got there after the storm had started. I did manage to take a blue blaze to pole Steele. Today was my first real rain on trail. Spirits are still high and ready to crush some miles soon.
Day 9
12ish miles. Garmin and I walked into Boiling Springs, saw 2 awesome dogs! Nothing special on trail today. Southern PA hasn’t been my favorite. It’s kind of boring, not a lot of views. Once we got into Boiling Springs, an awesome trail angel. Her name is trail magic, came and picked Garmin and I up and let us stay at her house! How nice right!!! She made us schnitzel and had brownies and cookies!!! The brownies were so good I’m drooling thinking about them. The thru hiker community is truly amazing!
Day 10
16.1 miles!!! Biggest day yet! Trail Magic slacked pack us today! That is where you only take your food and water for the day. So the pack is a lot lighter! And we also crossed the 100 mile mark what what!!! Paw was around and I think Rooster was also. There is also this cool Mennonite stand that sells milk! OUT OF A JAR! A start of new trail name was happening, Happy. Because they same I’m always happy and positive. But I like wrong way better. When Trail Magic came back and picked us up we had Lasagna!!! OMG it was sooooo good. She is an amazing cook! Thank you Trail Magic and Just John for helping us out on our trip!
The Appalachian Trail has been truly amazing! I don’t see me quitting at all. It just isn’t a thought in my mind that has popped up! Which is awesome! I’ll talk to you guys on my next post!!
