Air Tags?

Cheap Insurance?

Technology as insurance? Why not? As a relic of the Analogue Age, even I can  successfully install.

Recently purchased some Air Tags. I can hide one in my pack. If someone “borrows” my pack, or I’m unable to find mine, I can locate it all with my cell phone. (Note to Self: pack phone separate)

Plan to place mine in a water-proof bag towards the bottom of my pack and see if the whole thing works.

Privacy?

If I loose something everyone knows anyway, as I holler, ugly-cry and seek someone armed.

I understand there is a potential compromise for one’s privacy using the item. However, I’d rather find my “stuff” than worry about privacy.

I’d like your opinion.

I think it is a great idea. I understand the feelings on losing some privacy but the loss of gear that you have spent a lot of money and countless hours finding what works for you would be devastating on the trail, so I think that they are a great idea. Just don’t lose your phone too!!!
