Blogging… Smogging… Be The BLOG!!!

Hey Hikers,

Guess what, I’m a blogger… I am truly excited about the year 2017 and this incredible journey I myself will be on. I hope I can reach out and touch your heart with my experiences on the trail. I will be doing things a little different and I am sure you will notice that right away because I don’t know what the hell I am doing. But that’s OK. I am stepping out and trying new things. Come on, I’m walking across AMERICA!!! Yea like I have ever thought of this brilliant idea before. NOOOO.

I will explain my reasons for Big Jim’s Walk over time and you will actually be seeing a man unfold and kind of rebirth right in front of your very eyes. You see, I don’t know me at all. I’m gonna find myself, get to know myself whether I like it or not, meet new people and share some incredible experiences with people I just met. I hope I get to laugh and cry. I hope I get to feel every muscle ache in my body. I hope I get to see the transformation with time. I hope I get to finish what I started. I hope I am victorious. I hope I give hope, and I hope the message is received.

So backpackers, day hikers, flip floppers and trail runners, I am ready to meet all of you and share a memory or two…

See you on the trail.

I’m rooting for you, Big Jim! I’ve known a few additcts, recovering and otherwise. What you are doing is admirable. The “leap of faith” you are embarking on will sustain you from the beginning to the end of your journey.

I’m looking forward to reading more about your adventurous and life altering hike.

Perhaps we will cross paths on the trail. I will be on the AT in Virginia, making my way to Harpers Ferry come May.

    Peace in nature,
    Waterfall
