Blueberry Bloom

Day 25

Another good day with another short hike planned.  We enjoyed a peaceful morning and got back on trail around 9am.  We enjoyed nice views of Rangely Lake then spent over an hour at the view point and since we had service took some time to connect with our families.  Eric’s Dad will be meeting us in Andover, ME on Friday.  Hayley’s parents are planning to meet us in Hanover, NH in a few weeks.
Shortly after leaving our view we found some more trail magic! Two days in a row must be a record!
We took our time hiking out and over the open ledges on the Bemis Range.  The climb up was steep and hot.  So we took our time walking across the ridge picking blueberries.
At camp, we started developing our strategy for the NH section.  We are only 43 miles from our first border crossing! Maine really makes you work for that first state border.
We are getting used to the constant sweat dripping, it may be Maine but it can still have hot spells. We are fortunate most streams are still running and we are staying hydrated. We are seeing a forecast for 90+ degrees tomorrow so our strategy is to beat the heat (as much as we can) and start early so we can end early.
