Congratulations to these 2022 Appalachian Trail Thru-Hikers: Part 1

Months and months spent on trail lead up to this exact moment: The last few triumphant steps to the Katahdin terminus. With an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and finality, hikers proudly step up to the stand with arms raised and let out a shout of victory.

Completing an Appalachian Trail thru-hike is a feat that a select few can claim as their own. It takes mental, emotional, and physical strength to continually hike day after day in all types of conditions and terrain. We’re proud to showcase these incredible hikers who recently finished their AT trek. A huge thank you goes out to these hikers who have inspired many others to step outside of their comfort zone to complete something so grand and challenging. Absolute rockstars!

I have been living vicariously through your posts on The Trek. I just wish I lived closer to the trails so I could provide some trail magic. Congratulations to all of you!

… re: Grit and JoMama, who finished their thru-hike on Aug 3rd… I “believe” we’re the oldest married couple to have ever completed a non-supported thru-hike. I’m not sure if there even is a category like this, but there should be .. and I cannot find any couple older… I’m (Grit) 70 y.o.(turn 71 on 8/19/22 (BD: 8/19/1951), and my wife (JoMama) is 68 (BD: 2/21/1954)
