May the simple things be amazing, on the journey of your life

First of all, this blog is going to be all over the place. I apologize for that. I write down my thoughts at night and then think I am smart enough to combine all my thoughts into one blog.

The past week has been good. Been averaging about 12 miles a day, climbed a couple 5,000 foot mountains: all while smelling not so good. Part of the experience right? Hiking everyday brings conversations. Conversations bring deep thoughts…

Deep thoughts from the AT/Title Ideas for my unwritten book
“Q: why is the last mile always the longest? A: I’m not sure but I think I got a tan”
“Tom Brady married Giselle…where the hell did I go wrong? I’m walking in the middle of the woods”
“Wait, so it rains on the AT?”
“I can’t believe how much stuff I lose in my tent”

Be on the lookout for the next New York Times best seller.

Much needed first “zero” day today. I took full advantage of my zero day by talking with Outdoor 76 about feet/shoes, re-supplied at the local grocery store and then had a couple beers at the Lazy Hiker brewery.

Serious stuff, I can’t recommend enough for people to get out of their “comfort zone”. There is so so much this world has to offer. I think I am just now re-realizing this. I couldn’t be any happier that I decided to leave my comfort zone to embark on this adventure. That’s my advice for the day.

Bring on the smokies.
