Thank you to everyone who supported and voted “Danielle and Hannah” for the 2016 Appalachian Trials Badger Sponsorship. Hannah and I ended up in fifth place and scored some awesome gear. Shout out to the awesome sponsors and Appalachian Trials for organizing this event!

I came across Appalachian Trials and the Badger Sponsorship while planning two five day overnight trips stretching the New York and Connecticut sections of the Appalachian Trail in 2012. Naturally, Hannah and I thought the Badger Sponsorship presented the platform to share our story as well as the chance to win amazing gear. We are humbled and honored to have been selected as one of the twelve finalists and earning fifth place.

For any future thru-hikers I highly recommend reading Appalachian Trials and taking the time to create a submission for the Badger Sponsorship. The Badger Sponsorship not only presented the opportunity to win high quality gear but gave us exposure to an incredible and supportive outdoor community. Having proper gear and establishing strong supports within the community and on the trail are essential to our success. The Badger Sponsorship felt like our first taste of Trail Magic and we are incredibly thankful for all of the support. To say the least, our packs (which hopefully wont be too heavy) and hearts are filled with thanks xo
