First week

One week in and loving this. Have met some great people from all over the Country and quite a few from Canada and Germany as well. Hiked with a few different people on a couple of days, and everyone is so friendly.
Logged 69 trail miles plus the 8.8 approach as well as a few unintended side trails. Highly recommend the Hostel Around the Bend in Hiawassee. People and service are great.
Received some trail magic on Tuesday after a 17-mile grueling day up and over Blood Mountain at Mountain Crossing. Met a few prior hikers who had great advice and better stories.
Rockie, a 67-year-old local trail angel who’s hiked over 65,000 miles. Her good friend’s son Crigas- AT thru-hiker 2021. Along with Crime Scene- also AT 2021.
Rockie knows so many people and was able to call for a cabin that 5 of us split that night.

The mountains of Georgia are beautiful and challenging. Some great views along with the approach trail waterfalls.
