From Dreams to Reality: Blossom’s Heartfelt AT Reflection

If there’s a hiking vlog that will pull on your heart strings, this is the one! Blossom has now covered 200 miles on the Appalachian Trail and reflects on her time as a Trek Vlogger.

Blossom opens her most recent vlog highlighting how she spent her multiple zero days in town. She swapped out her previous shoes for Topos and explains how despite taking multiple days of rest, old injuries from previous years are resurfacing. Confused, yet hopeful, Blossom heads back to trail where she takes the time to reflect and celebrate her wins as a hiker and a vlogger.

Blossom shares with us how it has been a long-time dream of hers to be in front of a camera. Like many young women born in the late 1990s, Blossom was inspired by YouTubers who created makeup tutorial content. Since then, she’s dreamt of being in front of a camera either singing, giving makeup tutorials, or acting. She laughs at how her life is drastically different from when that dream first sprouted: she no longer wears makeup and rarely showers while on trail.

“I’ve met one other person vlogging and he was vlogging for his mom,” Blossom explains. “And I’m vlogging for a well-known company in the hiking community. I feel very blessed and fortunate to be able to vlog for the trek and it’s really surreal. This dream that I had when I was younger is kind of, like, in the midst of happening. But in a different way than what I had expected growing up.”

With a big smile on her face, Blossom feels charged up after what she has accomplished thus far: “I feel like it’s hard for me to come up with words out here. I feel like I just feel like a lot of positive energy and emotion. I mean, don’t get me wrong… I know I’m only like – I’m only 200 miles into this hike. I think this is a significant amount and I think that I’m kickin’ butt.”
