Getting Clean…Bag Bath

Zeroing in Missouri… T minus 15 days to Katahdin

Time is slowly passing as I wait for my 9 July flight to Maine and my 11 July start southbound (SoBo).  However, I AM very much enjoying the time with myWife.  We are “just hanging out!”  Which is my kind of living.

We are “doing things” but it’s nothing exciting like sailing the 7 seas, surfing a big wave or hiking Mount Kilimanjaro…but it’s our life…fun together!

One of the “daily” activities I am really enjoying is taking a bath.  Just being CLEAN has new meaning after spending my time hiking the AT.

I’ve Never, EVER, been so dirty and grimey than I was while hiking.  It was always a welcome change of pace to come into town and get a good washing of my clothes and body.

However, I never emptied my backpack and give it a good washing.  Maybe I didn’t want to wear a wet pack…OR…I was too lazy to do it (probably)

As I finish my prep work for getting back on the AT, I picked up my pack the other dsy and it reaked of stink.  It almost made me hurl…it WAS that Bad!

So I knew it needed a good cleaning and probably a good washing.  Since I have a few weeks before I head to Maine, NOW is the time.

Today…the pack took a bath.

Just look at the Osprey enjoying the tub time.

But take a look at that dirty water…

And maybe you can see the after water…the tub needed a good cleaning after this!

That sorry water picture is after the first washing. It had already been cold water rinsed TWICE, which I did not think about getting a picture of. And that ring around the tub is after the third rinse AFTER washing. That pack was diiiir-tee!
