Getting close to departure!

I booked my flight!

Woohoo!  I finally booked my flight to Atlanta and will be heading down March 27th.  My friend who is hiking with me will be taking the train down and arriving the next day.  From there we will somehow make our way to Amicalola Falls and begin our hikes!

Some unexpected news…

A couple of days before Christmas my LOVELY employers decided to cut my hours down.  At first I was extremely annoyed and upset because I had a very strict savings plan in place based on my current hours.  I also had just purchased a giant 15 passenger van which I was going to convert into a camper as my after trail project.

However…

It has been really nice having extra time to do some more planning, getting out on more hikes, spending time with people before I leave, and of course HITTING THE ROCK GYM!

I will have to just make it work with whatever money I have come the end of March.  Luckily I have almost all of my gear already and my flight is booked.  So as long as I don’t go too wild in town I should be able to make it work!

If you need a ride from Atlanta to Trailhead let me know. I live a few miles from north terminus of Marta rail line. Can take you the rest of the way and happy to get you there (I gotta ‘pay forward’ some of my trail magic from last year ya know…)

Go for it. I’m really good friends with Adventurevanman on youtube, and plan on doing the AT in 2019.
