Hitting the AT-Finally!

Day 2 began with an early morning rise to Springer Mountain. At the exact moment we reached the AT start, a huge rainstorm began. No visibility with instant flooding! “Welcome,” she said, “now hike!” Springer Mtn shelter was only 0.2 miles away so Linnea and I found refuge with a hot cup o joe to dry off. We then had a short hike day into Stover Creek shelter at 2.8 miles. Before dusk, many other hikers were here.
