Human Skeletal Remains Found Near Appalachian Trail

Hunters discovered human skeletal remains near the AT in Moore Township, PA on Monday evening, according to Lehigh Valley Live. The site where the remains were found is located along the AT between Lehigh Gap and the AT community of Wind Gap.

The Moore Township Police Department, the county coroner’s office, and a Pennsylvania State Police forensics unit responded to the incident. The remains were recovered and transported to the coroner’s office the following day.

Northampton County District Attorney Terry Houck told Lehigh Valley Live that there is currently little information to work with and no evidence of criminal activity. “You treat this like any other situation where you have an unexplained death. You have the autopsy, you try to figure out what happened,” Houck said.
