Its The Final Count Down

The last few months have flown by in the blink of an eye. All of the hours of hard work have paid off. I’ve opened dozens of boxes from https://www.amazon.com and https://www.backcountry.com with every package feeling like christmas! Mountains of supplements, dried foods, and all the gear I could imagine being useful (and even some items I couldn’t) clutter my room as I realize my departure is less than a week away and scramble to get everything in order. Friends and family members voice their concerns and try their best to convince me not to go. Emotions run high and tension rises but all the while the underlying excitement of “this is really happening” keeps me lighthearted.
I feel incredibly unprepared despite all the hours if preparation I’ve spent towards this trip. Will I ever feel truly prepared? Probably not. Everytime I have ever embarked on any sort of journey I have felt this jumble of fear mixed with excitement; the excitement eventually taking the stage once Im out on the road. All in all I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.
