Jumping onto the AT @ ROCKFISH GAP
It is hard to argue that the Shenandoah National Park offers one of the most scenic and breathtaking views of most all of the Appalachian Trail. This morning was no different than my past experiences; in short, it was absolutely stunning!
We were a BIT worried when we heard scratching outside out hammocks last night! Fortunately, it turned out to be a black bear that needed to scratch his back on some slabs on limestone we were camped close by. Luckily he didn’t think we were a couple of tasty hammock tacos thanks to highly strung bear bags!
Now, I am bedding down for the high heat of the day until our post 5 o’clock hike. Then another 5 miles before we call it quits for the day.
