Welcome to my memoirs of my upcoming Appalachian Thruhike. My start date is April 13th, 2017, so at this point I’m still gearing up, doing shakedowns, and working out the last logistical kinks. So for now I’ll answer the one question I’ve been asked most: Why on Earth would you want to live out of a backpack for 5-6 months?
The answer is simple: why the hell not? Life is too short to stop yourself from doing what you love. It might have been terrifying at first, but ultimately, this is one of the best decisions I’ve made so far. I’ve already learned so much, made new friends, and started to appreciate nature so much more.
Anyways, I leave for Atlanta in 22 days, and there is still much to do. So farewell for now, and thanks for your interest in my adventure. ??
