Maine Training

Training, training, and more training.  I’m not sure about the rest of you thru-hikers, but I’m so ready to be done training and start this show!  Basically, my training has consisted of lifting weights and cardio Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  I actually like the gym days because I can zone out while I work out, yet see familiar faces.  Then as I’m zoning,  I think, is this enough?  Should I be doing more?  Should I be doing less?  I look around the gym and wonder why are these other people working out?  Do they have a personal goal set, or is this part of living a healthy life?  I wonder how many of them would think I am nuts to hike 2200 miles with a 30-pound pack on. I then break out of my sweaty stupor and conclude, ‘what will be, will be.’
