Man Arrested Standing Naked on Roof of AMC White Mountains Hut
On Saturday August 20th, a man was arrested standing naked and “highly agitated” on the roof of Zealand Falls Hut according to NBC Boston. It took more than an hour to de-escalate the situation and coax the man off the roof. Officers from Fish and Game and U.S Forest Service responded to a call at 5:50 pm reporting a man threatening hikers at the hut.
Officials hiked 2.7 miles to the hut. After being talked off the roof, the man, identified as Brian Cheverier, 35, of Boylston, Massachusetts, was led back to the trailhead parking lot where he arrived around 10 pm. He is awaiting charges. No hikers were injured, and AMC operations continued uninterrupted.
