Meet Anna “Blossom”: Our Next AT Vlogger Hitting the Trail

Everyone, meet Anna “Blossom.” Blossom is gearing up for her Appalachian Trail thru-hike, which will begin in a matter of days.

Anna gives us a giddy update from her home in North Carolina and explains why she is starting the AT later than most people. As a Sustainable Development student, Blossom will be graduating later this week and receiving her degree prior to hitting the trail. In order to reach both her goals of graduating college and reaching Katahdin by October, she will be starting further up trail than most. She will begin her hike further into North Carolina and will make her way towards the Katahdin. Once completing that section, she will fly back to the start and finish the last section she originally bypassed in the beginning.

Though Blossom believes she could have done the AT in one fluid shot, she didn’t want to push too hard or feel crunched on time. Instead, she wants to take her time to enjoy the trail and to “stop and smell the roses” along the way.

Blossom looks forward to meeting new people, forming a group of friends, and hearing stories from those she meets.
