Moral Support

The idea of anyone completing a 2,200 mile thru-hike “unsupported” is just nonsense!

With a launch date less than a month away I’m thrilled to have loads of support back home. My wife, 3 daughters, sister and entire family have been very supportive of my plan. There is no way I could do this without them.

I found out this week, thanks to a dear friend, I have been adopted by Sam Rayburn School District in Ivanhoe TX image

Wow! These amazing folks,  about 384 elementary students and about 182 in 7-12, have agreed to provide much needed moral support. Principal and acting Superintendent , Jim Shaw is an aspiring AT thru-hiker. Upon my return, I plan to visit the school and share some pics and stories from my journey. How cool is that!?

Every hiker should have this kind of support and I don’t take it lightly! Thank you to each and every supporter! Now, let’s do this!
