My Why
“No seriously, Why?”
This question has rattled me and to stay on the safe side my answer is commonly “I want to,”
But my real answer is. “I just really want to”. It’s been on my bucket list since elementary school, after watching the many YouTube documentaries. I naturally became obsessed, I had to do it, I just didn’t know when.
Commitment
Last March my mom and I hiked a small section in Georgia, this was my second time on the AT, but this trip changed everything. At least my entire plan for 2025. We met tons of NOBO hikers just at the beginning of their journeys so when the idea sparked I couldn’t get it out of my head. I spent the last two days of our trip planning how I could make it happen. I made a list of everything I’d need to do, save money, probably get a better job, graduate high school early, and spend way too much time on the rei website. (the last one wasn’t on the original list). So far I can say I’ve accomplished everything and now all that’s left to do is head to Georgia… in three months.
