“Onward Hostel”

There’s a new hostel in town at mile 110 on the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina. The new owner is Stephen Lewis (Onward) who opened the doors March 2, 2023. He has dreamed of thru hiking the Appalachian Trail for the past 5 years but the timing wasn’t right so he started section hiking the trail for the past few years and stayed at different hostels along the way, meeting new hikers and falling in love with the community. He decided to move his family from South Carolina to the mountains of North Carolina to open his very own hiker hostel. A home away from home. The stay includes free pick-up at Winding Stair Gap and Rock Gap, free shuttle into town for resupply and outfitters. A bunk room that is large and roomy with couches, rocking chairs and foot massager and did I forget to mention the large outdoor porches with porch swings overlooking the mountains!! Complimentary tea and coffee, a small room resupply and hot showers with shampoo, conditioner and body wash plus towels and hair dryer….what else could you need?
