Patiently Waiting

T-minus: 14 days

It’s official! Two weeks from today I will be waking up at Amicalola State Park in Georgia and starting my 2,185 mile hike of the Appalachian Trail.

School has been consuming all of my energy these past few weeks, and now that things are finally starting to wind down it’s really hitting me that this crazy big adventure that I have been planning for myself is finally about to happen.

Lucky, I did most of my prep before things got insane, so at this point I am just tying up loose ends. The last major thing I have to do is finalize my camera set up, which is turning out to be a little bit of a bigger task than I had originally planned.

I am slowly cancelling my subscriptions, saying my final goodbyes to friends, saving that last little bit of money, and getting ready to essentially live as though I am homeless for 5 months (which is exciting as hell).

Everything seems to be falling into place and coming together, and I feel so incredibly blessed that I have the opportunity to make my dream of thru-hiking the Appalachian trail a reality.

And one final bit of exciting news: Everything is now officially planned out for my dad to join me during the first three weeks of my hike! So, stay tuned to see if we make it out of the first few weeks alive!

Happy Hiking!

Wishing I could bring my Jessie Girl with me on the trail....
