Prepare for the feast of a lifetime

Two weeks of meals to buy, bills to get in order, moving, last minute gear, and other odds and ends. The grocery cart tonight was bulging with food, courtesy of my dad (Thanks Dad!). It comes with a good deal of disappointment that I had to pass on the nutella, due to the weight. RIP dreams.

It’s nice to not have to think about going back to work but there is a lot on my mind with 6 months in the woods ahead (hopefully I’m not biting off more than I can chew). I have almost all the prep done with the exception of my bag. I have so much stuff that keeps going into the piles of stuff I’ll be carrying and its starting to worry me. It’s ok though it will totally be worth it on Sunday when I begin hiking! Not that I’m not worried about that too but although it will be tough (especially with this gut). When it comes down to it I just have to walk. I’m looking forward to walking, meeting people, living in the simple way, and hopefully gaining a new perspective on life. Cheers!

Hillary, I am so excited for you! Having done the southern half of the AT in 1981, I am also wishful that I could come with you for the northern half. Have a great beginning, enjoy your time with your dad and Sita, and come back healthy!
