Short Time Until The Big Day

51 days left. Am I OK?

With just a short 51 days left until I take on the long walk home, I could say that I am as cool as a cucumber, but that just would not be the truth.

I know that I am not alone in this as there are many hikers out there who will be doing something like this for the first time.

Advice Of The Speedgoat

While talking with Karl Meltzer – aka Speedgoat – last year, he told me this.

“Every day is going to be a challenge, all you need to do is put one foot in front of the other”

He then autographed my copy of Appalachian Trials with the following

“2189 miles is not that far”

So What Am I To Do?

Fortunately for me I have a very supportive wife who will be at home while I am on the trail. She has been able to talk me off the ledge a few times when I have felt that I was just not getting everything together that I needed.  Thank you, Melissa.

Along with that I have the support of co-workers at the real estate office, including Karl’s sister and brother-in-law. These two people have also given quality advice and helped sort through things as well.

What Now?

So as I count down the days, I keep going over the items I will be taking, packing and repacking. Breaking in my Limmer hiking boots, and tying up any loose ends as I get them. I am really looking forward to being on the trail with all the wonderful people, as well as the experiences that will come. I am sure that in the end they will leave a lifetime of memories. And that makes the journey truly worth it.

With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement?
My site has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it
looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over
the web without my authorization. Do you know any ways to
help prevent content from being ripped off? I’d definitely appreciate
    it.
