I was able meet the owner, Bob, the day before briefly. My friends and I were all in agreement that he’s a great guy with lots of passion for his hostel. I was definitely greeted with that same attitude and more from him and the staff during my stay. The staff were the kind of people you could feel comfortable talking with for hours about hiking or whatever else you found in common. The goal of this hostel is to take care of all the little details a hiker might need, want or not even know they wanted. They did a great job.
I talked to many people on the trail who stayed at this hostel and even overheard others talking about it. Everyone in agreement. Top of Georgia was a great place to stay. In fact I’ve also heard it used as a bar to measure other hostels and motels. A great way to start the trail.
Address: 7675 Rose Haven, Hiawassee, GA 30546
