The day started great. Up early with a shower and then headed to the General Store for coffee and a bacon egg and cheese croissant to start my day.
We met Batman “Mark Lopez” who’s the Sugarloaf Police Chief. He was helping hikers and we struck up a conversation. Before he left, he agreed to give us a ride to the trail in the morning.
Good to his word, Batman pulled up at the hotel at 6am and drove us out to the trailhead. We got hiking by 6:30am…much earlier than I planned.
Overall, today’s hike was pretty nice. Only one real up&down! I was thinking it would be tougher…I’m so glad it wasn’t. However, it was sweet hiking Sugarloaf Mountain. Once on top, it was a nice long mostly flat section on…my kind of hiking…flat!
The weather was cool and rainy all day. On the top, the cloud cover was thick.
But the hiking was good.
200 SoBo miles complete! I passed another milestone to pass by. 200 miles in 16 days with 2 Neros and 1 Zero!
