The Adventure Has Just Begun!!
As we set off on the AT I never would have guessed all the awesomeness that would come along. Cornsilk, Kaveman, Keebler, Blue dog and myself (Zoltan) knew that we would be taking the first month to acclimate to hiking everyday, but never would have imagined all the fun we would have in doing so.
The trip started with an uphill struggle against rain and fog and slippery trails, but we pushed back and along the way have met many cool people from all walks of life, the challenge of completing miles has become just a speck in the back of our brains when we think of trail magic and who will we get to camp with tonight.
After several weeks of rain we took an amazing stop here by the NOC for some Nantahala river rafting with Rolling Thunder River Company. The bunks and shower house are spectacular and the staff is incredible. I suggest looking them up if you plan on coming thru.
Life is good as a traveler and I can hardly sleep when I think of what just over the next mountain! Until next time, have fun, do what you love, and never stop exploring!!
