Today was Ugly! A long time of hiking on trail but not many miles. The reason….PAIN! Real pain.
So after 3 days of pain hiking, 3 days of pain while resting and now another day of hiking pain, I’ve come to the realization that I may need to see a Doctor sooner rather than later. Also, since 3 Zero days didn’t do anything to help my recovery, I need more — like 2 weeks or more.
I have a fear of the unknown. What is going on with my leg? I do not know!
So it looks like the tentative decision has been made to get off trail and figure out what’s causing my leg pain. If the evaluation turns out to be nothing, then I’ll be back to do more miles. BUT…I can not continue with the unknown and pain with every step. It like someone jabbing an ice pick in my shin when I step down and when I lift my foot…2 times every step.
However, IF things get better over the next 2 days…I’ll be continuing on through Virginia.
However, even though the hiking os ugly the views today were nice.
I even soaked my leg in the lake and took several long breaks today.

Larry, I hope you see a doctor and take care of your leg first and your hike second. I want you to get well and get back out there so I can continue to enjoy your posts.
Maybe new shoes or insoles would help? Keep on brotha!
