Ladies, gentlemen, and hiker trash- it has returned.  We are pleased to reintroduce one of our all time favorite series- the top Instagram posts from the Appalachian Trail.

Each week, we peruse all of the wonderful pictures from Instagram using the hashtag #TrektheAT and #AppalachianTrail and select a few of the best to highlight for your viewing pleasure!

This week we take a look at photos snapped between 08/30/17-09/05/17. This week, we’re Katahdin crazy.

This Week’s Top Photos from the Appalachian Trail

Day 127: On May 2, 2017 I took my first steps through the arch of the approach trail to Springer Mountain in Georgia, the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Today, September 5, 2017, I reached the top of Mount Katahdin in Maine, the northern terminus, 2,189.8 miles later. I can’t express enough how much of an impact this journey has had on my life already, one that I most certainly haven’t fully wrapped my head around quite yet. One thing I know for sure is that if you have something you’re passionate about, pursue it relentlessly. It may not seem logical, convenient, or even possible, but I can assure you that you’ll never feel more alive when you’re chasing your dreams. This was the first time I wholeheartedly felt I pursued my passion, and put aside the fear of turning away from a secure future and toward a more unknown path. While I need some time to let this all sink in, I’ve never been more excited to continue down this unfamiliar road to see what adventures come next. I decided to dedicate this journey to raising awareness for a rare and progressive lung disease, cystic fibrosis, and the program we are developing @adventureheroes to support the CF community. The Breathtaking Journey flag traveled all 2,189.8 miles with me, and even though the wind was too extreme for a good flag picture, it made me proud to be holding it on top of this mountain. I’m done!!! Officially a thru hiker. 170 days of a lot of blood, sweat, and the tears of the sky.( totally cried at the sign…) Will post longer emotional reflection of this trip tommrow.

We did the thing! The climb up Katahdin was so so fun, and these noodlies made it almost 400 miles, and everyone was jellypants of my kneepads not pictured here but definitely worn beneath the Oompa Loompa pants. I’m so proud of us but also so humbled by difficulty and kindness we have encountered on this magical trail. The world is huge, the world is good, and you can walk supremely far on your own two feetsies. April 12 to September 2 144 days and 14 states on the Appalachian Trail! 2189 miles completed averaging out to about 15 miles a day. When I checked in at Georgia I was northbound hiker #1753. Near the halfway mark at Harper’s Ferry, Virginia I checked in as #921. Today at Katahdin I was hiker #597. Saw lots of awesome places and met many amazing people. Bamboozle is back to being Jon again.

I made it!!! Can’t believe it’s over. This trip has been amazing. It wasn’t all roses and candy, but it was worth it. Being able to accomplish this journey of a lifetime has been amazing and being able to do this on my 18th birthday puts a big cherry on top. After a week off letting my sprained ankle partially heal and lots of tape, I made it to the top! Pillaged one more peak. What an amazing journey, an adventure of a lifetime, coming to a close.
