This Week’s Top Photos from the Appalachian Trail

Day 208, 271.8: Mahoosuc Notch ✔️Depending on how people view it, it is either regarded as either the most challenging or the most fun mile on the Appalachian Trail. We took an hour and forty five minutes to finish this one mile! It was a general descent down boulders, around boulders, under boulders.. it was a trail that most sane people would not attempt. If it wasn't a part of this trail there is no chance we would volunteer to do it again. These mountains in Maine were all in a foggy cloud today and thus leaving a nice glossy wet finish to the already incredibly steep terrain. We somehow managed to squeak ten miles out of today and even finished the day with a climb up Mahoosuc Arm, which was basically two miles straight uphill immediately after our almost two hour trek down the Notch. Our bodies are dead right now. Everything hurts. Luckily a town is sort of close to a trail head we're coming to tomorrow so we can hopefully take care of some much needed chores. Maine is hard. #twocookstakeawalk #appalachiantrail #atthruhike2017 #appalachianmountains #wanderlust #thetrek #trektheat #appalachiantrials #rei1440project #optoutside #whyihike #pinetrees #sunset #exploremaine #thischapterisalmostover #speckpond #backpacking #backpackerlife #adventuring #longdistancehiking #coupleswhohike
