This Week’s Top Instagram Posts from the #AppalachianTrail

Welcome to the weekly roundup of the best Instagram photos of hiker trash and treasures on the Appalachian Trail.

August is almost here, which means thru hikers are feeling their trail legs and cruising through the July heat and skeeters, or starting to wind down after many thousands of miles (as if New Hampshire and Maine feel like winding down).

This week’s photos were taken from July 17th to July 30th after careful selection from the #TrektheAT hashtag.

Day 15 | 13 miles We got an early start to the day, reconvening at river fords for second breakfast and lunch. I’m learning second breakfast is my favorite given how early we wake up. We summited Moxie Bald after the rain rolled through and before another bout of rain came in. It was pretty epic walking along this ridge and descending back into the wilderness. The moment was made even sweeter, by some trail magic/wisdom on a small rock, “The best is yet to come. If it’s worth doing, it’s not worth quitting”. #appalachiantrail #appalachiantrail2019 #atclassof2019 #atthruhike2019 #atsobo #atsobo2019 #sobo #thetrek #trektheat #thruhike #thruhiker #womenwhohike #outlivingit #optoutside #withguthook ? @_rolson
