Had to call it early today at 14 miles. At first the snow came in as a pleasant surprise. It wasn’t as bad as the rain, it was quite beautiful! After a while though, my feet began to get soaked and when I hit the shelter I had the choice of staying or going eight miles to the next one. I really wanted to go, and looking back, I probably could have, but I wasn’t sure if I would get there with daylight and I didn’t want to get lost in some storm. It’s easy to let something like this get in my head. I have a mentality of always imaging that I am behind schedule so that I stay ahead of it. It is easy to forget that I have that mentality not only so that I can find success, but also be safe. It would be quite unfair for you, my audience, and especially the people that love me if I were to let my pride get in the way of my well being. Hopefully I can hit tomorrow hard, but maybe I cannot. Maybe I have to go back into town. Decisions are tough sometimes!
