What’s Virginia Without the Ponies?

This week on Honey’s zero waste thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, she takes us along on some rather rainy hikes. Honey and her tramily officially left Tennessee and entered Virginia, where they were greeted by some of Virginia’s finest: the ponies.

Rather than letting the rain dampen their spirits, Honey and her tramily found excitement and joy when walking amongst the ponies. They spent some time getting up close and personal with the animals, giving the ponies cautious pets and head scratches.

Covered in mosquito bites and feeling the effects of numerous rain days, Honey closes out her vlog with a short update of their first 500 miles on trail: “I smell bad and I look bad, but this is the most beautiful place on earth,” says Honey. “Yesterday was a 20 mile day and we are in Virginia now. We will reach 500 mikes today. So I’m excited, I just feel so gross. We’ve been getting rained on every day pretty much.”

Make sure to watch Honey’s most recent vlog on youtube for a full update about her time on the AT.
