Austin Howes is an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker, aspiring travel filmmaker, and writer with a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors. When he’s not on trail, he runs his own detailing business, working on cars, motorcycles, and boats alongside his role at a local dealership. A lifelong outdoorsman, Austin has found backpacking to be the purest way to experience the rawness and honesty of the wild. For him, hiking the Appalachian Trail marks both an ending and a beginning. It closes the chapter on his first twenty years of life while opening the door to deeper self-discovery, new directions, and the pursuit of a life built around adventure, creativity, and purpose. To Austin, the AT is not simply a long walk through the mountains. It is a redefining of self and a step into the person he is becoming.
