Billy Mitchell, also known by the trail name 'Gecko', is a disabled Army Veteran and Texas native. He hikes to bring awareness of thru-hiking long distance trails to other disable veterans as a form of physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. He is a Geography major at Texas State University needing only 1 semester to graduate. He has published 2 collections of poetry and also writes travel blogs for HubPages.com. He is an avid photographer and like to create photo-art using Photoshop.
