My name is David. On the trail I'm called Doolittle. I'm a hiker, blogger, runner, brewer, gardener, gamer, rancher, deacon, father, husband...and mediocre at all of them! I live my wife and several hundred animals on a 10-acre ranch in Florida where we try to keep each other happy. If you are interested the first half of my PCT thru-hike (curtailed by fire), check out my blog at http://www.wanderingdave.com.
After 85 miles on the AT, we make our departure
Sometimes emotions get the best of me
With Helen behind us, we get back to “bidness”
Our first Nero, Helen embraces us
The sun appears and lifts our spirits.
We scale Blood Mountain, then get our first resupply
The AT turns predictably soggy
On our second day we are blown away by Long Creek Falls
We enter the approach trail to the southern terminus
In Florida I prepare for my return to the trail
