HEY, I'm Melissa! People call me Missy, too. My new trail name is Goldilocks, formerly known as "won't get up-WILL" and I am a former thru hiker. I am aged fifty-one, and currently reside in the greater Boston area. I have 3 adult children, 8 grandchildren and I am married to my wonderful husband, Eric, better known as hiker "Poncho". I am part of the following hiking classes: AT2004-sobo lash, AT2019-flip flop thru-hike, AT2020-nobo thru hike, AT2023, nobo 2,000 mile lash, LongTrail, nobo, full thru, 2023 AT2024, sobo lash, NE 115 thru-hike attempt #1 AT2025, sobo lash, NE 115 thru-hike attempt #2 AT2026,nobo lash, sobo lash, NE 115 thru-hike attempt #3 (6-21-2026) This Blog is dedicated to telling my story and sharing my adventure as I make my 3rd attempt at becoming the second person, first female, to thru hike all of the 4000 mountains in The Northeast in the form of a connected route all done on foot known as The Northeast 115. The Northeast 115 is an ultimate hiking challenge to summit all 115 peaks over 4,000 feet in elevation across New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. A "thru-hike" of these mountains involves continuous, sequential walking from peak to peak, combining the famous Adirondack 46, The Long Trail, The White Mountain Direttissima, Maine's 14 4000 footers, and two Catskill peaks into one massive journey. I will begin this massive effort in Maine and end in The Catskills, NY. ~Goldilocks
