Hi, I’m Keira, but when I choose to be homeless and hike for a living, I go by FLOTUS! Six years ago, a friend of mine was accomplishing her dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail! I decided to go with her for a day or two at the start of her hike in Katahdin. Right before this date, COVID happened, so I decided, why not just hike the whole thing! I met a cute guy less than a week in, and haven’t stopped hiking behind him since! My hiking partner is my boyfriend of six years, Hornet. Since then, we have completed the AT, CT, and PCT together. We’re very excited to attempt our Tripple Crown hike together this season.

MIA in The Mountains
It’s been a while. My last blog was in Cuba, NM. A lot has happened since then. Let’s look at the trail in ten day increments, shall we? Day
Documenting The Trail VS Living In The Moment
I spend multiple hours a day writing, recording and editing. Decide what a thru hike means to you, and what it means to be outside and possibly unplug.
Water Worth its Weight in Gold (CDT Days 21-30)
Our last Mesa was like the boss at the end of a video game. It was the biggest, and steepest. It was also the most fun trail I have walked on in a long time!
