I’m Siobhan. But feel free to call me by my trail name, Drop Bear. I’ve been feeding a severe hiking addiction since my 2015 AT thru hike. Since then I’ve hiked America’s Centennial, Northville Placid, Arizona and Long Trails and Australia’s Bibbulmun Track, Great South West Walk and Great Ocean Walk. In 2017, I got a taste of hiking failure after 700 or so miles on the PCT. With all that cacti and cowboy camping it was the most fun I’ve ever had not achieving something. There’s not enough time left in my life to hike all the trails on my list. But I’m going to try.
Wallabies, whale bones and wildlife, this vacation-sized and accessible Australian long trail is big on variety.
If Pennsylvania is where boots go to die, the Arizona Trail is surely where they rot in hell.
Javelinas, rattlesnakes and long dry stretches. Preparing for "hardcore desert" on the 800 mile Arizona Trail.
My heart is set on the Arizona National Scenic Trail this year but after a parched winter Arizona is, as we say in Australia, dry as a dead dingo’s donga.
Big sky, wild coastline and quiet forest on Australia's Great Ocean Walk. There are things that can kill you too. But they probably won't.
