Hey there, I'm Tiffany! I'm the type of person that starts listening to holiday music the day after Halloween. I'm dairy-intolerant, but I miss cheese like crazy and sometimes say "screw it," and deal with consequences later. I have to wear petite clothing because I'm so short, but sometimes even those are too long. I'm a software engineer, but I'm starting to realize I don't like sitting at a desk 40 hours a week. 9.75 out of 10 weekends, you can find me walking uphill in the middle of nowhere. But this summer, you'll find me standing at the Northern Terminus of the PCT, ready for a nice long walk.
I don’t know what I’m doing. I’ve never taken something like this on before. I knew I would make mistakes. And trust me, I’ve already made plenty.
I don't call myself a religious person, but as they say: "Man plans, and God laughs." Perhaps in this case, "Woman plans, and Mother Nature laughs?"
It's not always easy or simple to share with everyone you know your plans to take on something as huge as a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail.
Some favorite lake hiking trails in the Pacific Northwest, from an aspiring thru-hiker heading out onto the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019, northbound.
This aspiring thru-hiker probably isn't going to train for the PCT... But she sure likes to get acquainted with those Pacific Northwest summits.
A "Why I'm Hiking" lists of lists, made by someone who started hiking just last year, who learned about the PCT soon after, and who decided she's going to thru-hike it.
