The Best Videos From, On, and/or About the Appalachian Trail
As the Appalachian Trail grows in popularity, there are more and more videos available that try and capture the beauty and enormity of the entire trail. It’s a difficult task, but some creative souls are able to capture just a glimpse of what it’s like to experience the magic and wonder of one of the longest marked trails in the world.
A hiker captures 24 footsteps everyday and blends them together in this 4-minute thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. Watch as the seasons go by and the environment changes with each step, bringing him closer to the end of his journey.

The Final Summit
This is the last segment of an aweome National Geographic documentary of the Appalachian Trail. The entire documentary is available on Netflix and I would highly recommend watching the whole thing. This clip focuses on northbound hikers during their last day on the trail.
This video was shot on a small segment of the AT, but provides great scenery and music to help you get pumped for your next hike.

Filmed in Shenendoah National Park, this video provides another stunning look at a section of trail.

Getaway: The Appalachian Trail Documentary just came out it’s really good as well.
You may have missed the viewing at the lovely LOVELY ice-cream-filled Hostel in VT (can’t remember too well who/where), of the AT film “Southbounders.” It’s a love story. An actual attempt at a fictional movie about falling in love on the AT. Worth a watch if you can find it.
