Burkes Garden hostel to mile 637- Pearisburg

After a few good weeks of clear weather, we had 2 full days of pouring rain. In spite of the rain, I hiked 19 miles Monday then a short 13 on Tuesday. Fellow hiker Scribe had a great idea to stay at a motel after that first day so that was a welcome hot shower and comfortable bed.
Had a phone issue after the 2nd day of rain . The charging port was wet so couldn’t charge it but it dried out by lunch thank God. That would have been a disaster.
Hiked 24 miles Wednesday in the sun. It was a great day.
Met back up with Jaeger and Bittersweet who’s from Ireland.
Hiked a couple of days with Entrepee who’s from St. Louis.
Made it to Pearisburg and Angel’s rest hostel. This is where so many people are shuttling back to Damascus for the famous Trail Days.
I’ve decided to skip that festival. But Skiptown came in to the Hostel last night. So nice to see him again after Damascus.
The trail was pretty rocky for a few days which makes it challenging and slows you down.
Still saw a few really beautiful vistas.
Taking at least a day off, maybe 2 depending on the forecast. After the couple days earlier, I would rather stay dry!
Next stop is Four Pines Hostel at mile 704.6 in 4 days.
Getting closer to reuniting with my bride!
