Day 3- Short and Sweet

Day 3
Since I knew I had a shorter day today I had a later start and was on trail at 9:30. There were nice winding canyons and great views. I was happy to wake up with the sad listlessness of yesterday gone. I felt much more neutral and ready to take things one day at a time. A small lizard eyed me as I passed and I saw a couple hawks overhead. I haven’t seen much wildlife so far. I leap-frogged Twinkle Toes a few times and sat by the small drying creek with him for lunch. We are fortunate to have these small pools still available to us as most dry up. I hiked on a few more miles and found an exposed campsite on a hill with an amazing view. I tried to set up in a spot with the most protection from the wind. Andy and Bob stopped by to chat but moved on to camp at a lower elevation near a water cache. I enjoyed my night alone with a beautiful view of the sunset. Also I had some cell service so a call to Eric was made of course!
