We are looking for someone who is graphically inclined and loves the outdoors to join our team. The chosen candidate will get the opportunity to have their work exposed in front of hundreds of thousands of people every month as part of one of the fastest growing media organizations in the outdoor industry..

THE INTERNSHIP

We are looking for a rock-star intern who possess both an eye for top-notch design and the technical skills to execute. A definite bonus for anyone who loves the outdoors. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign. We have a host of fun design projects already in queue for whoever is capable of joining our talented, young team.

Simply put, the chosen candidate will received the opportunity to have their work featured on a highly respected outdoor website- recently recognized as the Top Hiking and Outdoor Blog by USA TODAY.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be able to work between 5-10 hours per week. Must have own computer and Internet access. This is a remote work position. The candidate has the option to work at the Golden, CO headquarters, but it is not required.

Additionally, the ideal candidate has:

  • At least 1-2 years experiences with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, or other similar quality photo editor / image creation software.
  • Not required, but a background in web design is a huge bonus
  • A love for backpacking / hiking (not required, but definitely a bonus)

HISTORY

Appalachian Trials began in 2012 as a self-published book by an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker and the website’s editor-in-chief, Zach Davis. Since the book’s success, the Appalachian Trials brand has transitioned into backpacking enthusiasts go-to resource for all things related to thru-hiking and long-distance backpacking. Today the website serves as the writing and blogging home to more than 150 backpackers across the country.
