Hot Springs to mile 395

So
I passed 300 miles. Did a few 20 mile days. Then hit some rain and took an earlier than planned zero day in Erwin, TN. on Friday.
The trail magic continues as we passed a cooler on the trail filled with Yoo-Hoos, fruit and Moon Pies.
Then atop one of the balds, a group from SC had a tent setup and were handing out hot dogs, fruit, snacks and drinks.
When the weather has been good, the rewards after the climbs have been spectacular and well worth it.
Passed North of the last 6000′ mountain yesterday and stayed at Roan High Knob shelter which is the highest on the trail. It snowed last night and it got down to 22 degrees with 40 mph gusts, but we survived to a beautiful day today with more incredible views.
So far it’s been an amazing adventure. Just wish Laureen was with me as I miss her tremendously.
