My friends, it’s been too long. The 2016 thru-hiking season has only just begun and we’re back in the saddle ready to bring you all of that sweet instagramy goodness to help satiate your unquenchable hiker lust. Started the day out at the Nantahala river with 1,732 feet of elevation. After a 7.9 mile climb, we summited Cheoah Bald at 5,062 feet with possibly the best views of the trip so far. The climb up to Cheoah became more snowy the higher we ascended until we burst through the snowy trees onto a sun drenched grassy bald with commanding views in all directions. The 3,330 foot climb was only the first half of the day, as we had another 7.9 miles to go. #appalachiantrail #atthruhike2016 #appalachiantrials #whiteblaze #thruhike #backpacking #hiking #nobo
